Gay Nights in London (March 2014)

Posted: March 10, 2014

London is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, and deciding where to go on a night out can take almost as much time as getting anywhere on the Northern line. To help you, we’ve scoured the capital citiy’s gay night life and come up with the best places for you to spend all your (probably) hard earned cash this month. Sadly we can’t be held accountable for the resulting hangovers. Check back with us every month for a new list:

WE LOVE POP (Bells of Shoreditch, Kingsland Road) -  March 15

WE LOVE POP is currently in its second year, after a launch in 2013 that featured DJ sets from stars such as The Saturdays, Diana Vickers and MKS. This month the night is celebrating music from the past decade, with a Naughties Special. With music from the likes of Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Girls Aloud and Rachel Stevens, look no further than WE LOVE POP for a night filled with your favourite pop stars, Call The Shots drink deals and a packed dance floor.

Hard Cock Life (Ace Hotel, Shoreditch) – March 15

Though not as scandalous as the name might suggest, HCL is anything but tame. If you’re looking for a refreshing change from Soho’s Kylie Minogue classics and Cher mega-mixes (not that we don’t love them both), then look no further than HCL (see my full review of HCL here).

G-A-Y Bar / G-A-Y Late (Old Compton Street, Soho) – throughout March

London’s most famous gay bar is celebrating Kylie Minogue’s new single Into the Blue with amazing drink offers. For the entire month of March, every time a Kylie video plays on the video screens in either of the bars, a select range of drinks will only cost a pound. Even if you’re not a fan of Kylie, you soon will be.

Porn Idol (Heaven, Charing Cross) – March 13 and March 15

The infamous Porn Idol at London’s biggest gay club is back with a bang. The night invites innocent and unsuspecting club attendees up onto the stage to strip for the crowd with the chance to win a cash prize.  The night launches on Thursday (March 13) with the second half of the re-launch taking place on Saturday (March 15). If you like your double-vodka and red bull with a side of judging, then Heaven’s Porn Idol’s the night for you.

Kylie Minogue at Heaven - March 22

Gay icon and pop icon Kylie Minogue will be taking to the stage at London’s infamous Heaven night club to coincide with the release of her upcoming album Kiss Me Once.

East Bloc (City Road, Hoxton) - Fridays & Saturdays throughout March

Located in the heart of East London, East Bloc is one of the most eclectic gay clubs in London. Open till 6am on Friday and Saturday nights, there really is no better place to lose all common sense of decency and dignity until sunrise. If music ranging from Disco-house to R&B sounds right up your street, then for more information on specific club nights, check the clubs Facebook page for more details.

Put It In Your Mouth (Dalston Superstore, Kingsland High St) - Thursday March 13

Taking place on a Thursday at East London’s ultra-hipster venue Dalston Superstore, Put It In Your Mouth is a night of 90’s Hip Hop and R&B classics, with London DJ’s QBoy and Neil Prince. Open till 2:30am, and with free entry, there’s no better excuse to call in sick on Friday.

We'll be back with more in April.
